Week 5 Recap & Power Rankings

Two 1-3 teams put up the two best scores, and step-substation finally lost. Austin and Skatteboys are the only 4-1 teams left, and they play each other next.

The games

The Question Master138.10
Tanjiro Kamado111.56

Jaylen Warren beats the team that traded him

The Question Master posted the best score of the week, and most of the damage came from a player Tanjiro sent them in the September 24 Puka Nacua trade. Jaylen Warren ran for 101 yards and caught six passes for 87 in Pittsburgh's 34-22 win over the Colts. He scored on a 50-yard run and an 80-yard catch, which nobody had done in one game since Herschel Walker in 1986. That was 33.8 points.

Joe Burrow threw four touchdowns to four different Bengals (24.6). Mike Evans went 7-113-1 in Seattle while playing through broken ribs (22.8), and Braelon Allen scored the Jets' winning touchdown (18.1). Tanjiro had the top player of the week in Drake Maye (39.5) and Puka's 17-catch Monday night. Tyler Allgeier and Alvin Kamara combined for 4.2, though, and Malik Nabers' 23.6 stayed on the bench.

Rb1131.64
My Njigba Hurts81.20

Rb1 breaks 100 for the first time

Rb1 hadn't cleared 100 points all season. This week it hit 131.64, beat its projection by 35.2 and won by 50. Christian Watson caught six passes for 143 yards and two long touchdowns in Green Bay's 31-7 rout of Chicago (29.3). George Pickens drew 13 targets on Thursday night and went 9-130-1 after CeeDee Lamb left hurt (23.5). Sam LaPorta's fourth-down touchdown in Arizona added 17.3.

The one blemish sat on the bench. Jayden Daniels, in his first full game back from a dislocated elbow, ran nine times for 103 yards and two scores and finished with 32.3 while Trevor Lawrence started (21.7). My Njigba Hurts got 20.3 from Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who played through an ankle injury, and five starters under 10.

Gibbs and Parker Washington run San Diego off the field

Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns in Detroit's 45-21 win in Arizona and added five catches (35.2). Parker Washington, acquired from Tanjiro on October 2, caught both of Trevor Lawrence's touchdowns in London, one of them one-handed (27.4). Matthew Stafford threw for 383 and three scores on Monday night (27.3).

San Diego's 69.94 is its lowest score of the season by 27 points. Deebo Samuel hurt his hamstring and lost a fumble in the third quarter (1.5). RJ Harvey got three carries as Denver handed the backfield to J.K. Dobbins (0.7), and Harold Fannin caught one of four targets in the rain in New Jersey (0.9). Garrett Wilson's 19.9 was the only San Diego score above 14.

Skatteboys101.84
What r u doing step-substation?57.72

The Goff pickup pays off right away

Skatteboys dropped Bo Nix for Jared Goff on waivers Wednesday. Goff threw three touchdowns and ran in a fourth in Detroit's win at Arizona (28.9). Bucky Irving set the tone Thursday night with 165 rushing yards and two total scores against Dallas (30.5), and Brock Bowers caught eight for 110 and a touchdown in a 45-17 Raiders loss (19.0). The receivers had a rough day: CeeDee Lamb left with a thigh bruise (1.9) and KC Concepcion took a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first quarter (1.0).

step-substation's 57.72 is the second-lowest score of the season. Tyler Shough threw for 96 yards and two interceptions against Minnesota's blitz (−0.2). Roman Wilson saw one target before a finger injury (0.0), and Kenyon Sadiq left with a concussion (−0.7). Trey McBride (17.1), Rhamondre Stevenson (16.0) and Christian McCaffrey (15.8) kept it from getting worse.

Austin Clout Demons110.00
The Disturbance Regime106.66

Two bench decisions, settled on Monday night

The closest game of the week came down to who sat. Austin benched Isaiah Likely, and Likely caught 11 passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns for the Giants (26.9). Disturbance started Kyler Murray (18.3) over Jordan Love, who threw for 367 yards against Chicago (25.3). Love's extra seven points would have flipped a 3.3-point loss.

Josh Allen settled it. He ran 10 times for 121 yards and a touchdown and drove Buffalo into field-goal range in overtime (30.5). Davante Adams caught two goal-line touchdowns on the other side of that game (19.6). James Cook scored twice for Disturbance (22.3) but lost a fumble in overtime, and Kyren Williams' tying touchdown with five seconds left (16.6) only delayed the result.
